The establishment of our faculty is based on the decision of the Senate of Karadeniz Technical University No. 173 dated 28 September 2001. The proposal to establish the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences in Giresun province, which was accepted in the General Assembly of the Higher Education Council in April 2002, was published in the Official Gazette with the approval of the President on April 9, 2003, on 26 March 2003.
The main purpose of our faculty is to raise productive young people who are equipped with contemporary knowledge in the field they are trained, who have at least one specialty in the field, who can use the information they have gained in a flexible and creative way, and who have acquired problem solving and teamwork skills.
For this purpose, our faculty started teaching activities by taking 70 students to the Department of Economics in 2005-2006 academic year. In the 2008-2009 academic year, students started to work in the Department of Business Administration, in the 2011-2012 academic year, to the International Relations Department, and in the 2015-2016 academic year, the Department of Political Science and Public Administration started education. There are a total of 6 departments in our faculty and there are no students in the Department of Finance and Econometrics. The departments of our faculty have Political Science and Public Administration, Business, Economics, International Relations, Eurasian Studies, Political Science and International Relations.
