The department of International Relations which is founded within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 2008 provides education to meet the growing need for international relations / foreign policy experts of Turkey; to contributeto employee necessity of public and private sectors who understandthe global multidimensional international relations and know requirements of today and future. Besides, it educates a growing number of international students to provide international relations / foreign policy experts in many countries.
The department of International Relations; by teaching history, structure and mechanism of the international system, behaviors of states, international organizations and non-state actors in the system and their interactionwith each other, has a mission to educate students taking references from modern values and approaches and also Atatürk's principles and his revolutions.
This program gives an education about the history of the international system with its evolution, political, economic, and legal structure and the function of the system and especially focusing on the role of Turkey in this system and its foreign policy.
Semester programs and course contents of the department of International Relations aim to educate students who can be part of the decision-making process, have a possibility of being an expert in their field, follow the world agenda, read current problems of their country and humanity, and also producemodern values.
Candidates of this department should use their thoughts most efficiently with words and writing, should freely convey their thoughts, be interested in political science, history, sociology, psychology, law, economics, and prone to foreign language learning, and also successful in human relations. Related to this, it is clear thatprofessionals in the field of diplomacy require being a representative and have a high level of general knowledge.

- Improving students' vision with brand valued international symposiums, and other events such as conferences, panels, and symposiums at the national-international level,
-In addition to the necessary education in the field of international relations, carrying out professional foreign language education,
-Evaluating elective language courses that will provide learning different languages by giving importance to multilingual education,
-Also offering an opportunity to conduct student-centered direct studies with Research Centers,
- Passing the elimination process, students can study foreign countries’ faculties for one or two semesters.

Alumni of International Relations department can get different kinds of titles in the field of diplomacy if they pass the institutional exams. Notably the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other ministries which have EU and foreign relations departments and affiliated institutions, various mass media, public banks, international and local banks, multinational and local companies, semi-autonomous organizations, and public professional institutions are among the most important working areas.
Furthermore, alumni of the Department of International Relations can serve different positions such as governors, and senior positions in the fields where other Economics and Administrative Sciences’s alumni work. In this context, the Public Personnel examination system provides an opportunity for the alumni to have a wide range of professions.
In the areas of the Research and Development and the Education, our alumni has an opportunity to apply various graduate programs, especially the department of the Political Science and International Relations of the universities at home and abroad, and the increasing number of Strategic Research Centers in Turkey and other countries.
